Catherine Cole Lace Socks

by admin on August 1, 2012

My allergy nurse wore a pair of the cutest lace ankle socks I had ever seen one day.  I asked her where she bought them and she turned me on to CatherineCole.com.   I thought these would be really nice to wear under a wedding dress instead of the usual lace panty hose.  They are fun, flirty and unexpected.

Socks are a good idea over stockings or hose because you don’t really realize just how hot you can get in a wedding dress and extra layers just adds to that.

Socks + sandals = NO

Cute socks though, they would look fun with booties or tennis shoes.

Completely agree. In fact, socks and sandals are actually one of the first examples when one looks up “fashion faux pas.”

Just because a runway model wears it doesn’t make it okay. I refer to this particular example as evidence: http://s2.hubimg.com/u/697517_f260.jpg

Failed to explain that I do know Japanese culture/traditional fashion pairs socks with sandals, but tabi socks are particular to geta.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I just bought a lovely pair to go with some adorable ankle boots I have. I can’t wait for cooler weather!

Cute, but what girls under the age of three wear round my way, not grown women!

Oh those are adorable! I won’t put bare feet into shoes (unless I want red welts and chafing), and my legs are so short I’ve never been able to wear hose that doesn’t have excess at the toes, so these would work quite nicely.

My mother has been making those for my cousins for years. She takes normal ankle socks and does a crochet pattern, often with those big plastic beads, around the ankle. My cousins love them and have something truely original to show off every year. She also does those fuzzy scarves and felted purses. She is just kinda crafty.

These are fabulous! I went to the site and ordered a couple pair! I even ordred one of the scarf’s for a friend’s b-day in a few weeks!

I think these would make lovely bridesmaid gifts, too. Thanks Admin!!
