What a clever and cute idea for a bridesmaid’s gift! Personalized dress hangers! I am so doing this with next daughter’s wedding. From the Etsy shop, Delovely Details.
Why limit it to bridesmaids? Buying just one for the bride would be a unique shower gift.

What a great idea! I also like admin’s idea of giving it as a shower gift – especially if you put a cute nightgown on the hanger.
Forgive me for being a curmudgeon but a dated-personalized hanger with a nightgown on it just sounds like TOO personal a memento, if you know what I mean.
That is cute and functional! I can’t tell you how much jewelry I’ve accrued from various weddings, that I’ve never worn after that day. What a good idea!
We should have done that when I got married- my bridesmaids hadn’t had the chance to try on their dresses beforehand and we had a horrible moment the night before the wedding when they got their dresses mixed up and my SIL’s dress wouldn’t meet by about 6″.
It was a good five minutes before we realised what had happened.
I received a similar gift prior to my wedding – it came from this store – http://www.etsy.com/shop/wisconmon
They are cute but look rather impractical – with out notches for the straps (or those little ribbons inside dresses for hanging) I think the average dress would slide right off these hangers. This type of hanger is great for jackets, button up blouses, etc but not for dresses with wide neck holes (especially since dresses are typically softer smoother fabric then average), or strapless dresses that require hangers with clips. I have owned over a dozen formal dresses in my adult life and not a single one would be able to be hung on a hanger with notches.
It’s alright – but I’m really not dying to have anybody else’s wedding date stamped on a clothes hanger of mine. I don’t really envision anyone cherishing this gift as thoughtful or personal. The fact that it is practical and useful however, does appeal to me.
Agreed. I don’t see this as personal at all, kind of generic. But a personalised, practical item is a nice idea, if you consider your attendants likes and dislikes – a bookmark for a reader, a small picture frame for a photographer or measuring spoons for a baker
These would be great for taking photos of the dresses side-by-side – nicer than plain cheap hangers.
cute idea for the bride. Cute idea for the bridesmaid, but without the date. Getting a fun personalized hanger as a gift would be great (as a bridesmaid), but do I really need to have imprinted on there the date of the wedding?
I really like the one’s on Etsy where the wire is bent to spell out ‘Mrs SoandSo’ or ‘Bride’ & ‘Bridesmaid’
Cute idea, and I would think a hanger with my name on it would be neat (if not necessary at all)…but I’m not sure I’d really want a hanger with my name and someone else’s wedding date on it. I mean if I’m an attendant, sure their wedding is important to me, but not so important that I want the date of their wedding in my closet.
Sticking to just the name would be nice.
Was my original comment worded too rudely? Because now I see lots of other comments regarding the impracticality of these hangers, and why would anyone want a hanger with someone elses wedding date?
Furthermore, it doesn’t match any of my other hangers, and I’ve got a rather obnoxious case of OCD and that would drive me nuts
Those are so cute!
